Linking up with some new favorites, care of Grace. Again, you’re welcome.
The task is to share some Sweet Mama Style, of which I have almost none. But I gave it the good ol’ college try this morning and came up with…this:
{Shirt: Old; Jeans: Kut From The Cloth; Shoes: Sam Edelman}
So how has my style changed since becoming a mom? That’s easy. It didn’t change for like 8 years. I’ve never had any style to speak of until very recently when I started trying just a little bit harder. And what a difference.
Here are a few things I discovered whilst getting my sh*t together:
1. Everything looks a little brighter when you’re groomed, amiright?
2. My kids are much more responsive to commands like “brush your teeth” and “comb your hair” and “change that shirt it’s filthy” if I’m doing the same things. Why should they wash their hands and face and comb their hair and only wear clean clothes if I’m showing them it’s okay to always look like an unmade bed? It does them no good whatsoever for me to neglect myself.
3. I’m not going to turn into Kim Kardashian by putting a teeny bit more time into my appearance. Not gonna happen. And that’s a good thing.
I’ve never been what you’d call a martyr, always putting my kids’ needs above my own and therefore never combing my hair, but until recently I never thought I warranted having any style because my goal has always been to blend in with the walls and go completely unnoticed. What a bunch of B.S., and why it took me so long to figure that out I’ll never know.
So what’s changed? A lot.
And that, my friends, is what you’d call a cliffhanger. While you’re settling in on your pins and needles, click here and visit the Mama Style hostesses. I don’t think you’ll be sorry!

Most beautiful mama I know, gussied up our stick.
I love this post, and not just because of the super cute outfit.
Thank you, Hallie! Is Charlie here yet??
